‘DRAGZ’ Supra

I don’t know if you’re like me, but whenever I see a Supra rolling down the street, I always take a very close look. It may be the commanding presence that its purposeful shape exudes or it may be the respect one has to have for the 2JZ-GTE that may be lurking under the bonnet, but whatever it is, I find myself always paying just that little bit more attention to one. That attention, however, is rarely rewarded as often it is a non-turbo 2JZ-GE powered automatic Supra that rolls noisily by on Sport Max rims…..
Well today certainly wasn’t a disappointment because Dragan Glucina has very kindly allowed us to showcase the incredible build he’s done on his stunning Twin Turbo ‘Dragz’ Supra.
Headline figures: 355kw (476hp) at the wheels and 1058.8Nm of torque at 21psi whilst still running a sequential     twin turbo set up, power going through 19″ SSR Professor SP1′s wearing BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW2 275   section tyres at the rear and a Cusco full roll cage stiffening up the entire chassis.
The stock Getrag 6-speed unit is well capable of handling even these power levels but a prudent clutch upgrade to Exedy Twin-plates was done to ensure that hard track days can be maintained without having to worry about what that smell is coming from the firewall. Brakes and suspension are both obvious areas that a track car needs more attention so DBA slotted discs and QFM A1RM High Performance pads make certain that the car will come to a stop when you need it to and HKS Hipermax III coilover upgrades actually means that you’ll be using those fancy new brakes a lot less than you thought you would.
The interior of this thing has been almost completely overhauled as well, carbon fibre facia and bespoke stitching are only the start of it. Defi gauges as far as the eye can see and TRD instruments have replaced any stock Toyota parts. A full leather interior is now also in place and the 7-point Cusco roll cage has even been powder-coated black to match.

Obviously the exterior has received equal attention with Do-Luck front bar, hood, side-skirts and rear 3/4′s immediately catching the eye. The rear wing is a TRD design with the actual wing made from carbon-fibre and my favourite part, the rear diffuser, is a Top Secret peice. Money well spent right there. Oh and of course a full jet-black respray to really set it all off.
This thing is definitely not just about the looks and figures, the way this thing handles and accelerates is something that you will simply never tire of. Boost comes on almost from idle thanks to the sequential high flow twin turbo set up and the amount of wastegate whistles and exhaust pops that accompany the car even just when backing out of the driveway makes this a truly special machine in a world where cars are now more about the show and people caring less and less about the go. But I can tell you that if more people could experience this thing, the ‘go’ would most definitely be back on everyone’s priority list.
